The method, in full

How the trust score works

Every project on Qlooto can earn a trust score out of 10. It comes only from site updates posted by buyers whose purchase we checked — never from the developer, never from us, and never from money. This page is the whole method. Nothing about the score is decided anywhere else.

1. What goes in: site updates from verified buyers

A buyer uploads their allotment letter or agreement once. We check it matches the project, then delete the document — it is never stored or shown. From then on they can post site updates on that project, and each one can rate up to five things from 0 to 10:

  • Timeline accuracyIs construction and possession happening when it was promised?
  • CommunicationDoes the developer answer buyers, share updates and keep them informed?
  • Price transparencyWere prices, charges and payment demands what was agreed — no surprise add-ons?
  • Construction qualityIs what's being built solid, finished properly and as specified?
  • Complaint resolutionWhen something goes wrong, does it get fixed?

Every rating is optional — a buyer rates only what they’ve seen. An update with no ratings is still posted and read, it just doesn’t move the score.

2. How each update is weighted

Not every update counts the same. Each one gets a weight from two things, multiplied together: who posted it and how recent it is.

Who posted it

Standing is earned from the community, never assigned by Qlooto: it comes from how much someone has posted and how often other members marked their posts Helpful.

StandingEarned byWeight
Recognized15+ posts, 25+ Helpful2.0×
Trusted5+ posts, 8+ Helpful1.5×
Everyone else—1.0×

How recent it is

A project changes over time, so older updates fade. An update’s weight halves every 12 months — it never drops to zero, it just counts for less.

  • This month100%
  • 6 months old71%
  • 12 months old50%
  • 24 months old25%
  • 36 months old13%

3. From updates to one number

For each of the five areas, the score is the weighted average of every rating given for it. The overall trust score is then the plain average of the areas that have at least one rating. Here’s one area worked through, with three updates rating construction quality:

Update fromAgeRatingWeight
A Trusted membernew81.5 × 1.00 = 1.50
A new member12 months41.0 × 0.50 = 0.50
A Recognized member6 months62.0 × 0.71 = 1.41
Construction quality = (8×1.50 + 4×0.50 + 6×1.41) ÷ 3.41 = 6.6. A plain average would say 6.0 — the recent update from an established member counts for more than the year-old one.

Projects with several unit types also get a score per unit type (a 2BHK and a 4BHK buyer can have very different experiences), worked out exactly the same way from the updates tagged with that unit.

4. When a score appears — and how sure it is

One angry or delighted buyer shouldn’t decide a project’s reputation. So no score is shown until a project has at least 5 rated site updates from at least 3 different verified buyers. Before that, the project page shows the count so far (“2 of 5 site updates”), not a number.

Low confidence · 5–9 updatesMedium confidence · 10–24 updatesHigh confidence · 25+ updates

Every score is shown with its confidence and the number of updates behind it.

5. What can never change the score

  • MoneyDevelopers and brokers can't pay for a better score, a featured spot or removal of an update. Qlooto takes no developer or broker money.
  • The developerA developer's official account can reply to questions, but can't post site updates or rate their own project.
  • Qlooto staffThere's no field to edit a score. It is recalculated from the updates every night; moderators can only remove posts that break the rules, which is logged.
  • Questions, answers and likesOnly rated site updates count. Helpful votes affect a member's standing (their weight), never a score directly.
  • Removed postsAn update removed by a moderator or deleted by its author stops counting from the next recalculation.
  • Unverified accountsWithout a checked purchase in that project, a member can ask and answer but can't post site updates there.

6. What the score can't tell you

It reflects the experience of verified buyers who chose to post — not a legal, financial or engineering assessment. Check the RERA registration, read the updates themselves (they usually say more than the number), and ask the people who bought there.
